The Team: Authors, Online Developers, and Evaluators
Media Literacy for Safe and Healthy Choices Training was produced by a team of Media Power Youth www.mediapoweryouth.org, PCG Education and Pepper professionals representing decades of expertise in media literacy, education, at-risk prevention, and online course development led by Media Power Youth Education and Training Manager, Sarah Shanahan, MAT, PCG Education and Pepper’s Blended Learning and Online Course Development Specialist, Michael Weinraub, MEd, MBA, and Media Power Youth Training Coordinator, Tina Raczek, MEd Technology. Media Literacy for Safe & Healthy Choices, Media Power Youth’s evidence based curriculum for grades 4-6, is the product of 10 years of research, development, implementation and evaluation in public schools. Evaluation was conducted by senior research scientists, Drs. Ron Slaby and David Bickham,Center on Media and Child Health (CMCH), Children’s Hospital Boston, under the direction of Dr. Michael Rich. www.cmch.org The curriuclum is listed on the National Registry of Evidence Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) of the Substance Abuse and Mental health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
